Spyware

What is spyware?

Spyware is less dangerous than malware, less annoying than adware, and more devastating than them put together.

Spyware is a type of virus that sits on your computer recording keystrokes. They are often activated when you go onto websites beginning with HTTPS. The S part means secure, and is commonly used with websites that require passwords, the most common being banks.

Spyware records your keystrokes and sends them to a remote computer, where they can be used for large purchase, that you can be charged for. Often if a spyware attack on your bank account is launched, your bank will cancel those details and refund the money, but there are always exceptions when you will lose the money forever.
